Housed in a beautifully restored former British Rail goods shed, The Freight House is a characterful and flexible venue perfect for performances, community events, celebrations, and business functions. With its industrial charm and versatile layout, it can be tailored to suit a wide range of occasions.

Managed by local not-for-profit organisation The Design Cabin Community C.I.C., the venue helps deliver our mission to build local wealth, grow skills, and support enterprise.

The Freight House offers a variety of layout options:

• Up to 300 standing

• 220 buffet-style

• 210 theatre-style

• 120 social dining

• 80 boardroom-style

Our meanwhile operation runs from 1st July to 31st December, with hire rates covering the main hall and optional bar add-on. Event equipment and planning support are also available at an additional cost.
